Who's suddenly using the word "check" that it's a topic for conversation? I realize that you were addressing non-US ufies with your post, but being an American I feel I must voice my opinion on everything, whether I know what you're talking about or not.
And also, it does seem somewhat wishy-washy to say "check should be check or cheque, depending on what you're talking about, but I'll continue using spelt as I see fit" even after it's been pointed out that spelt has two completely different definitions and the only way to know which one is being used is from the context, which is the same as the word "check". I must admit, I don't understand your gripe. |
