and the Falklands, you may well get better coverage in the US ..
CNN did quite well with both of those conflicts. The BBC however, censored the broadcast so heavily the the UK didnt know fully what happened in the Falklands until 10 years later (we got straight feed here in Aus, no editing at all really) - and in Desert Storm the UK commentary was pitiful, inadequate, and innacurate.
(In Aus, one of our tv stations was taking BBC feed, another CNN, mostly put to air with little editing bar inserting odd local news breaks.) Im not sure that the european news services were any better than the UK. |
