Should dyslexics be allowed to act as... by Naruki 2003-03-07 19:51:23
Grammar Nazis?

My standard is this: when a person acts in that capacity, they had better make their own posts as flawless as possible (although they usually fail). And when a person makes a point of engaging in that sort of activity regularly, they are more responsible for consistently being a good example.

I am a regular GN, but I expect people to call me on my mistakes whenever they find them. (I also strive to make that very hard for them to do.)

But what about someone who has professed to having a learning disability, such as dyslexia? They are "protected" from criticism because their flaws are not really their fault. But then some of those people turn around and comment on things like using correct language or spelling or what have you.

Is this fair?
