explainint it in simple terms... "lots on off ow tv"? that might make a point maybe. But yes the shouting, etc probably would scare/startle him and he'd notice the blunt loudness and obvious facial expressions and the words would fade to nothingness. I got my son to stop by telling him "no ow light no off on off on" and he got that after a few times of being put in his room for it. As for me I found it frustrating as a kid when people punished me but didn't explain it in a way I could understand. At the time I resented it. If they'd explained it so I knew what I'd done wrong things would of been diffrent.
