The problem arises when the government starts linking all the information about you to that card. I'm not just talking about name, birthdate, address, and SSN. I'm talking about banking, credit, and financial info, library checkout records, travel records, medical records, criminal records, and $deity only knows what else. Once all that gets pulled into a central government database, your right to be free of illegal search and seizure has gone out the window.
