you see windmills creating electricity everywhere. Solar Panels for creating hot water on roofs are a quite usual sight, and alternative energy sources are used quite largely. In the City I live in, Regensburg, even the machines selling parking tickets are solar powered, on every Autobahn brigge are several solar powered machines controlling the amount of traffic. So the technology _is_ available And esp. bin Laden has his money from his dad, who was in the building industry.
