I think that if you are more comfortable with yourself by altering something that you find a detriment to your looks, then by all means go ahead and have it altered. If it makes you more self-assured and confident then more power to you.
I prefer a natural look on myself, so prefer my hair without color, but I also know how important meeting the esthetic needs of my SO are and so color when she needs me to.
Yes, body modification is more dangerous and permanent than hair coloring, but I think the same rules hold. If a certain part of me was ineffective for my SO and it would help her for me to alter it, I would do it for her. But those two opinions are the only two that matter for me. Do it for myself, or for my SO.
BTW: my sweetheart is perfectly proportioned in my estimation, although she of course sees occasional flaws. |
