my son wants the surgery for reasons I mentioned in another post. I gave him the choice and I'm not forcing him to do it because it's something I want... It's his life and his little body. I've always taught him to deal with it with humour and education when people react. His personality shines thorugh and has helped him where some other kids may not of done so well with the same thing. Despite his personality kids can be cruel as can be the world. He's delt with quite enough as is. If you'd walked a mile in his shoes or a kid/persons like him your views might be diffrent. As for deformities I do have one. My left eye never developed eye lashes in the center bottom. I could of worn fake eyelashes for vanity sake but I never have. If you don't think people noticed my eye your wrong. Kids were very very cruel about it calling it the evil eye and such and combined with my disabilities when young made life not so fun.(remember my son too is mentally challanged and has things so his chest is just another source of stuff for the cruel ones to hassle him on)
