I've had people judge my son without ever really knowing him. When he was smaller his chest looked worse then. It hurt me as a parent seeing somes reaction to him even at a time when he couldn't personally understand it. It's instinct to recoil from something we think is grotesque... it gives us heebie jeebies. I know how I felt when I saw his chest for the first time. I loved my son dearly but it shocked me and frightened me(in particular because I was worried about possible health problems and in some cases chest like his can cause such due to compression of heart and lungs. A few lucky ones like my son are severe but organs seem unaffected)

For him he jokes about his chest and is pretty good natured. Family don't think much about it now but that wasn't always the case. He does get very hurt feelings when people react like he's a freak or get frightened by how his chest looks.(pregnant women and the odd person tend to get frightened seeing his chest and have said so)

If he was to apply for certain jobs later and stuff was pretty much even over all... and for some reason both people had to take their shirts off or wear some type of muscle shirt or shirt that might unbotton to show some of his chest(or something snug that would) I'm sure they'd turn him down... I'm also sure he'd be able to pick up their unpleasant reactions even if they tried to appear nice enough about it.

There are diffrences in types of enhancements cosmetically. Large breasts can cause some backpain but that can be alievated with customized support bras. So it is not seen as a medical need but to the person in question there may be multiple reasons why they want it smaller. Just like there are for kids like my son. Who btw also has an abnormal upper lip. It is thicker than normal and does affect his speech alittle but isn't seen as medical need to remedy and can't really be remedied for the most part. He has a 3rd nipple as well which now just appears as a dimple. If it wasn't like a tiny dimple and was quite obvious I can imagine the reactions he'd get from people in the negative sense and I would of considered cosmetically dealing with that so he isn't treated like a freak and outcast. He as well had an abnormal bellybutton. It was fixed but not by my choice or on purpose. I'd of left it alone. But he had some abnormal spots in his intenstine(not an uncommon thing just the level of it was) and to save his life they had to slit him from his bellybutton area to pubic bone. So right now he actually has no bellybutton but a big red line down.(which I suppose could get cosmetically touched up but we aren't going to do that)
