I would suggest grabbing the J2SE rpm package from sun, then opening up a terminal window and execute the .bin file that you would have downloaded as a result of that. Then use *favorite rpm install program* to install the java SDK because even if you are although the lame part is that you have to read through this entire "user agreement" before they will give it to you in rpm form, so I would suggest leaning on the enter key for a while until it asks do you agree (yes/no) and then answer yes. Install and get your path to include /usr/java/j2<version>/bin and then you can do whatever you want with java. I hope this helps
