How's your nationstates doing today? by Arienadean2003-03-07 07:53:53
Free Republic of Rubina by thewrongcrowd 2003-03-07 08:27:49
Alas, we have slipped from being Democratic Socialist to an Inoffensive Centrist Democracy. Guess I shouldn't have let the college kids sell their kidneys...but they pleaded so pitifully. On the other hand, taxes are down and we've entered the IT industry.

Civil Rights: Excellent
Economy: Good
Political Freedoms: Very Good
Location: User Friendlia

The Free Republic of Rubina is a small, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 18 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Social Welfare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 27%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small but healthy private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Beef-Based Agriculture and Information Technology.

Animal Liberationists are regularly jailed, voting is voluntary, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, and the government is avowedly atheist. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Rubina's national animal is the rodent, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the teru.
