...okay, I guess I understand..

but in that case I am bit too much involved in international gettogethers...
guess you know that I am much involved in scouting (in switzerland) and I had the honour to be in several international camps (just over new year again) which involve mostly over 160 nationalities...

so asking for the nationality isn't considered rude or cannot be really inconvienent, at least the question belongs to the first ones....:)

but you are right, not being in that enviroment the question can be taken as rude or inconvienent...
never thought about that actually...:)
