When the whole "trenchcoat mafia" thing was going on, I was in high school in a small city in Ontario (50,000 population). One of the guys I knew wore a trenchcoat to school (and had done so for at least 3 or 4 years previously). After the "trenchcoat mafia" incident, both of the local papers wrote articles about him (thankfully not in a bad light, basically just a chance for him to voice his opinion), and the school administration called him in for a "chat".
AFAIK, nothing else happened, but it could have. Just because we live in Canada doesn't mean that administrators aren't stupid sometimes... |
