Fixed up the whole problem. It wasn't the router. The worthless NIC that came with the new computer only had 4 of it's pins loaded. Only 4 of the wires inside of the cat5 would make comtact with the NIC. For some reason that I am yet to have explaned to me is the new comp with that crappy NIC when directly connected to the cable modem with a straight through wire worked fine. But wouldn't reconize anything outside of itself when plugged into the router or cable modem or other computer. In the end the guy I was working for broke down after I convinced him that when it comes to some computer parts that if the price is under $20 it's probably not worth it. So he got a new d-link (I think that's what i got him) and everything is working fine. Great PS to that. He called me yesterday in a panic. His burner wasn't working. He had un plugged and re plugged in the IDE cables. Removed all burning software and re install. Removed all drivers and reinstalled. Went out and bought a new burner but was to afraid to swap the part. So he called me and gave me $50 to swap the dead burner for the new one and then burn 2 cd's.
