Actually, this happened in a hotel, where people gathered for several days for a convention. So, not everybody knew each other, but it was ok to come up to people and hang around and join conversations. The lady didn't jump to really interrupt the conversation, but just came by as a potential person who might join the conversation.
Guy B was presenting something earlier that day, so many people knew who he was, even if they didn't know him on a personal level. That also invites more people to come up to him (B) or his group. |
