to some degree, at least. That's why I didn't mention it. After all, if noone in a communist society bought anything (they were all miraculously self-sufficient) then the society would break down just as capitalism would. Maybe I'm not thinking of the right "type" of communism - I'm not thinking ideal enough - but it seems that communism is still founded on trade and making and selling goods. Even if you take out the advertising and most of the democracy used to choose which goods to buy (although that still exists to some degree), the society and system as a whole still needs capitalism.

Or am I way off base?
