Many of us could.

For example, when you die you're gone. That's a pretty simple and much better way. That means whatever you do now had better count, or you've wasted your life.

Or, NO HELL. If someone screws up, send them back to try again until they get it right. I believe this is called reincarnation.

And I could go on.

Basically, it seems that God didn't do half the crap that he's been accused of. Creating Hell, for example, would be a terrible crime against humanity.
