Time to think by Spisefisken 2003-02-27 13:59:25
I was thinking after watching an interview with William Gibson about branding.
We say we live in a democratic society, and we also say we live in a capitalistic society. Isn't the capitalistic society taking some of the democratic instances out of the Democracy so that it actually isn't truly democratic.
The way that companies, in order to sell their products, also impose the morale and structure upon all with means that has been scientifically proved to be a kind of brainwashing of people.
Think of brands like Coca-cola, Hollywood, MS, Lego etc. which in order to make a sale tries to give us an idea of their company as the right choice both in order of product, but also in order of behaviour and morale.

What are you thoughts? Is it possible to have a complete democratic society within a capitalistic society, vice versa or neither?
