I always try to indicate that soemthing is my opinion when it is. In opinion piece papers I always present the most difficult to tackle positions (two or three depending on length) against my own. This way I can tackle them full on and show the strengths and limits of my position (incidentally, this approach seems to insure a good grade, never less than a 'B' even from very atagonistic teachers). Teachers should be required to do something similar if presenting opinions to the class rather than facts.
On this board, you don't really need to present the opposition, since others happily chime in to do it for you. Saves a lot of work on an idividual level. *grin* |
