PC for a friend (as a thank you) by myke 2003-02-27 07:08:28
I've got a P166 with 32MB.
They're word processing on a 386.

Suggestions?
I'm thinking maybe 95B or should I do 98SE?
Or is there a Linux Desktop and Office Suite (or just a word processor) that will run without being agonizingly slow? (I think OpenOffice and Corel are out of the question here.... am I wrong?)

These guys aren't exactly experts, but I think the son is about 12 now...

(Thinking Slackware with Afterstep or Wmaker.. but what about word processing?)
