S&P's profile (as of 5/02) lists only the following as principle stockholders: Frank Batten, Jr. at 11.9% FMR Corp at 10.3% R.F. Young at 8% Batten and Young are former/current directors. FMR is Fidelity Investments, long-time Boston financial institution. Microsoft acquiring 25% (or even 10%) between then and now would have been big financial news. (And the SEC would have been interested since they are listed as direct competitors.)
