The Rincewind-books are the only ones I don't really like. Too many cheap gags, not enough 'philosophy'. But I know some people who think they are best, so each to his own. And you're right about the unadulterated cat! Now I know why ours started out as Cesar, but became instantly a Muck. Perfectly sensible name you can shout across the kitchen with maximum carrying power :o))
