Ehm, why the US? by nibbler 2003-02-24 04:37:36
I am not ignoring Saddam... He IS a bad person and should be removed. But does that help?
If saddam and his party are taken out, what keep the ribal tribes from creating a huge war (simular to Yugoslavia)?
Taking out Saddam, but not the political party also has riscs, they could put up an even more radical person (like saddams sons, who are even more cruel and weird in their heads).
Leaving him there is, well, not helping either, but at least we know who's there...

btw, why should the US be the one to invade? they are just as guilty of part of the slaughter in iraq as saddam. Yes you read that right. Right after the war kurds and other tribes rebeled against Saddam, but to make sure this wouldn't escalate into an all out civil war, the US and the UN allowed Iraq to do something about the rebels... until they got the message from all the refugies, only then did they impose a no-fly zone....

Like I said many times before, I am not a friendly toward Saddam or terrorism, but bombing the heck out of everything/one that dubya doesn't like isn't the answer.

Hans Blix has given Iraq till March 1st to Start destoying their missiles...let not start invading till then, ok?
How long would you let someone sit on weapons that could kill hundreds upon thousands of people, you could be one of them if you happen to be in an area that is attacked with such weapons.
Needles to say many countries have these weapons, some are even willing to use them on civilians....why is iraq so special?

besides, the original post was to show how thin the evidence is about the weapons in iraq. And it has also become clear that dubya wants to attack anyway, he doesn't seem to matter what is found or not, he wants to attack. Not because he has to, not because of the 'evidence', but simply because he wants to.
