Well I do appreciate the reply by thread_killer 2003-02-19 22:05:07
At least I know there is one friendly ear out there. I'm like a pitbull when I have a problem, I'll get it figured out. I was hoping this was something easy. This is my first "pure" Unix test. I've been messing around with Linux for awhile, but I want to give the ol' Granddad a shot. Like I said, if I can't get it to work, I've got a box full of old cards I can throw in there. I'll probably-eventually-figure out where I'm humping the puppy and get it figured out. It took me four days to figure out software RAID 1 under Slackware, but I did. It's just a matter of time. BTW...if you ever want to try that, the HOWTO at tldp.org sucks. Again, I do appreciate the attempt at help. Truly. What kind of hard drives do you need? I've got a huge stockpile of old parts. I run most of my Snort boxes and PIX sysloggers off of everything from P 75's to 266's. I've gotten quite adept at making old boxes hum.
