we'd at least be assured of destructing rapidly. Thoughts of an unpleasant outcome never stopped anyone before. Did the people working on the Manhattan Project stop because they were worried it would blow the earth up? No. Did anyone stop the development of the hydrogen bomb for the same reason? No. Did anyone try to destroy the Spice Girls master tapes before they were released? No.

That proves that nobody cares about a horrific outcome if they are dead-set to do something with possibly disastrous consequences.
