                yes I do by Arienadean 2006-11-19 12:55:59
and yes originally why I went to doing that (because yes I did learn with an editor that no longer exists ... and used the html windows help file) is because I had been writing pages on disability stuff. Some I knew were visually impared and required the ALT tags to warn of what was an image. Also earlier browsers couldn't take alot of the fancy code and it would slow machines right down and the slowness made pages nearly non functional.

If you go look at my webpage... Yes that is done in both nano/pico and notepad. The graphics at the time were a combo of gimp and corel paint... with some quick touchups/processing via thumbs plus or xnview. So it was done across two OS with programs that did about the same in both. I do use some javascript now on occasion as most machines are finally fast enough to handle it but when I do I put in an error supression thing to prevent headaches if it's not read right and I limit usage of it to nothing overly fancy(just nav maybe). Overall despite the simple code I used I think my page looks quite good so simple code that is readable by things even like lynx/links(text or simple graphical browsers) don't have to be plain jane, etc... but do have to be readable and functional.
