    not entirely sure...but by schneigl 2003-02-19 08:25:45
on my unix systems I blank out the email and name fields and just copy in the ID#.

I've used this technique to steal (sic) work units from a buddy here at work who wrote a script to burn test new multi-cpu systems. Since seti is single threaded, his script would create an instance for each CPU and he would "burn-in" the system after building it. My script went out and changed his ID number to mine in his user_info.sah.

I think the key is the result_header.sah. It has a user_id field that is remarkably identical to the id field in the user_info.sah. So when the results are returned that is the ID that is credited for the work unit. So I think leaving the email and name fields and just changing the id field would work...unless the user_info.sah is rewritten after each work unit. so its probably best to just chage the id and blank out the name and email fields.
