Lt. Gov. Tim Kaine by mikosullivan 2006-11-19 12:55:59
Last night I tuned in to our local NPR radio station and found that they had Virginia Lieutenant Governor Tim Kaine on as a guest, and that they were taking phone-in questions. I called in and asked Lt. Gov. Kaine about his views on open source software as a more reliable and less expensive solution for the state's technology needs.

I was happy to find out that the Lt. Gov does in fact know about open source and seems familiar with its advantages. He didn't indicate that the state has any particular plans for improving our use of open source (unfortunately), but I was at least glad that open source is on the radar with some of our political leaders. That's a step forward in my view.
