But consider this: I have 20$. Work is 50miles away. That's 100miles a day I have to drive. The gas tank is almost empty. Do you: a) Buy gas to put in the car so you can continue to work and therefore get your first paycheck afterwhich all will be okay, b) Buy food, don't goto work, get fired because it was made very clear that you not being there even if you were dieing was simply not allowed, then continueing to not eat because your first paycheck (which was your only paycheck) was very small and wasn't followed by any others.
