As root issue the following command from any where in the file system "rm -rf .*" I strongly suggest you do NOT issue this command. It will delete your entire file system. And for the compalaints about rm confirmation. rm will inquire whether you wish to delete read-only files. By default it will not inquire about writable files. If you wish it to always ask specify the -i (interactive) option when issuing the rm command. But as someone else stated, carefully review rm commands BEFORE you hit the <Return>/<Enter> key! Vampire
