So where does all this idiocy lead? For an example, note that lately we have local newscasts in different parts of the country claiming they're taking a worse hit on gas prices, than anyone else (compared notes with a friend in another state, on this), along with warnings that something nasty is going to happen to us.

One doesn't have to be paranoid to smell the manipulation--only to believe it; so will someone please stop the paranoia-go-round, so those of us who still have some sanity left can get off, before it implodes.
