The US and AIDS in Africa by fiordhraoi 2003-02-13 09:45:20
Okay, stupid me posted this on the wrong strip the first time...*smacks self*

Here's a question. Bush a couple days ago asked Congress for 15 BILLION dollars to send as an aid package to African nations to help combat AIDS. That's 10 Billion more than was slated to go. Very good thing, I think that's wonderful.

But then the guy running one of these countries in Africa (Guyana I think, but I can't find the article right now), whose country is going to get about $4 billion of that 15, bitches that "It's not enough" and that the Americans were essentially greedy, immoral bastards who should be taken down.

I don't think his country has produced $4 Billion in GDP TOTAL in it's history, never mind in one year. And he's going to get that money put into his hand, and he COMPLAINS?

Why is it so cool to be anti-American, all of a sudden, especially when they're being damned NICE to you.
