You still think that advertising doesn't play a part in getting people to START smoking. That is a faulty premise, and because it's a foundation of your argument, it undercuts the entire point you're trying to make.

And that quote is severely limited in application. If you burn all the books about a long dead civilization, for example, you don't _have_ to burn the civilization.

Personally, I think they should ban advertising for _all_ non-medicinal drugs. But then legalize them for sale at the same time, with the government putting a heavy tax on them that goes to various non-military uses (preferably health and welfare).
