now that they are killing jobs here like the grim reaper on a busy day. Long ago I worked with a guy that failed every test, got no certifications but was able to do the most arcane stuff, like connecting a Banyan Vines network with Novell 3.11 half a day after seeing Banyan for the first time. He was good but hardly got a raise or promotion for having no certs. First chance he got he left for a better company who wanted his skills.
