Haskell is probably the most non-obscure of that lot, popular in some Linux circles. As a whole, I've found that functional programming languages like LISP, [incomprehensible], and [even worse] are not all that popular... it takes a huge leap of thought to get to them similar to going from straight C to C++.

Like you, Freakazoid, I was brought up using imperative languages such as Pascal, C, BASIC, and even assembly.
