C question: expanding strings? What? by surgo 2003-02-09 17:49:13
Did I miss something when learning C? In the GNU coding standards it states that you shouldn't place an arbitrary limit on user input and instead use dynamic allocation.

This is all well and good, but isn't there still an arbitrary limit when you use calloc()? Or is there some way to expand or shrink it once you have it that I am missing? I'd love to know how to stop requiring inputs to be under a certain hard limit of characters.
