Ok, really, are there stupid questions ?
What does constitute a stupid question ? What is the criteria ?
If there are questions, some might be considered stupid, and some might be considered smart.
Suppose we say that "How do I put my right foot in front of my left foot ? " is a stupid question. But then is this question stupid for a toddler learning how to walk ? I think not, I think that would be a very smart question for a toddler to ask. So, therefore this question is both stupid and smart at the same time. This is impossible. This is a PARADOX ! One way to resolve this paradox is to say that there are no stupid questions, and that there are no smart questions either.
Ok, now, are there stupid or smart answers to questions ?
It is pretty evident that for some questions there are very smart and very stupid answers. For example, "Does 5=6 ? " is a question. A stupid answer might be "Duh, I don't know". A smart answer might be "5 does not equal 6, by definition of number system currently in use". Note, however, that the answers are different and not the same, so, perhaps there are stupid and smart answers to questions ? Is it possible ?
I mean that it is interesting to note that there are no stupid or smart questions, but there are stupid and smart answers. Is that logically correct ? I hope I didn't miss something. |
