Other support groups: RED. I am a network analyst at a large company. On Friday, our building support people decided to do a live test on the somke detectors under the floor in a computer room. The system is designed to kill power to the PDU feeding the computer room if the smoke detectors trip. They blasted canned smoke into two of them and shut the network down for the entire building. Luckily they only took out one building's network, but it took them a while to figure out how to reset the system. The guy from the alarm company had that stupid luser look on his face when I explained to him about the safety power cutout function. He was clueless. The building maintenance guy thought it was cool that they took out an entire building.
