If you run the BIOS setup, make sure that in the Boot menu the virus protection option is turned off. I know my P2-400 had it. If you try to zero-write like I suggested, then it will probably start beeping and warn you that something it trying to write to the MBR if it is turned on. It never prevented me from doing so, it just asked me if I wanted to allow it.
