The numbers you've chosen are appropriate to Class C "Private" but check to make sure they're all on the same logical network. In other words, make sure that the first three octets of the IP addresses are all the same. (just in case you didn't know, the octets are the numbers between the periods. There are 4 of them.) And the subnet masks should match absolutely. I think you can leave the gateway blank if you don't intend to go online with them.

Never, by the way, count on a Windows machine to "set itself up" I don't recommend the wizards either. Probably ought to do it manually.

You did take a look at the information you get when you type "ipconfig /all" right? and you're absolutely sure all the blinkenlights including the ones on the NICs are blinken when you ping? Has your free hub worked before to your knowledge?
