Well, I finally got back around to installing a distribution (Mandrake) on my machine. Thing is, I have no idea where to get some fairly necessary programs. So... since I'm sure there's plenty who have trodden the way before me, I thought I'd ask.

GUIness is nice, since I'm running K 3, and if it can actually install itself with all the required dependencies, that would be swell.

What I need:

Some sort of DVD playing software.
An FTP program (if it isn't already there)
An Image viewing program (Like AcdSee or something)
and some knowledge: Do I need to install specialized drivers from my video card if Tux Racer's actually going to run without choppiness?

Thanks....
