If you're going to buy something, try this Linksys Router instead of a hub. Your internet connection would go directly to the router/switch box instead of to a computer that always has to be running correctly to provide connectivity to the rest of the network.

•It doesn't cost much more than a hub would.
•It provides a switched network.
•It's easier to configure than iptables, lots easier.
•It provides a fully cloaked and fully configurable firewall
