I've found lingonberries taste like crandberry sauce. They must be related plants or something. I actually have two recipes. Both call for heavy cream for the sauce. The one with the spices also has paprika which I don't have. I also was out of onion hence the chives. But one or both(I forget which) of the recipes calls for egg, breadcrumbs, veal, beef, pork, milk(or heavy cream), and onion in the actual meatballs. When I've made them in past I liked to serve them with a while mushroom cream sauce. Or with alfredo sauce on noodles. I thought the sweet and sour sauce my roommate had was a bit weird. I wondered on swedes and meatballs because my uncle when alive was from sweden and I think I'd only ever seen him eat them once.
