Admittedly in a _very_ hideously convoluted bit of C . I had to define a number of enums twice in different places with #ifdefs . Otherwise if I put it in doe position A the compiler grumped at pos 1 . If I moved the defs to B that fixed the grump at pos 1 but made gcc grump at pos 2
