Didn't even have to reboot, just free'd the IP's , gave them fixed ones, and everything worked fine. Files transfered at roughly 45 MBit, which is acceptable.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

I'd still be interested in more info on the host file idea, as that seems to allow me to transfer at high speeds without disconnecting, if I understand correctly.
