I think that you shouldn't even have to disconnect the computers from the internet as you should get full speed. Only way try really would be to setup the FTP server on the box and try it out, if it's not full speed, just do the directly connecting them via xover problem. (I seem to rember some problem with xp and 2k filesharing issue, but i'm not shure)
