  Well, the only thing the home network dealy does by Freakazoid 2003-02-06 13:41:10
is make the box a internet sharing device (ala what linux does sooo much better) if it has 2 netcards.

As far as the drive sharing goes, DON'T if you're directly connected to the internet like you said you were, as pretty much anyone can walk in and read the files on your computer (even a password won't help, there's specific programs dedicated to cracking network drive passwords)
