How do you define interstitials then? | by Kickstart | 2003-02-06 11:54:42 |

| The nag strips do not appear on the daily static. |

When one clicks through to the comment board, the nag strip is displayed, over the cartoon ONLY, stating how long it will be there, and the comments ARE STILL AVAILABLE. This means that you can still get on with the community that makes this such a fun place to be, while having the nag strip there. If you really want the larger version of the cartoon (it doesn't make much difference to me), you can open comments in another window or tab if your browser does tabs, and wait for it. This means that it's not an interstitial by the strict definition; the content desired on the static is the strip, which is still there, unchanged and unblocked, and the content desired on the boards is the comments, which are unblocked.
I don't care if the ad is funny or not; I object to their delivery of it. You seem to have stopped stating that it's dismissable with a click. Funny that.
Also "15-second commercial" smells like Flash with audio to me; I don't have Flash, and I don't have sound support right now. What do I do now? If it's Flash, that leaves me stuck, because the dismissal would be Flash too... I'd frankly rather not waste my time finding out, since this is fundamentally non-vital to me. |
