It is not funny. It is not removable. I take back my points on those...apparently I was originally given a different ad structure.
However, I still stand by one thing...unless you are going to -in some way- pay for the content you receive...you shouldn't assume that all content should be free. I'm sure of two things here: Salon doesn't want to interrupt and piss off their readership, and if there was a better way to make money to pay the writers, webdesigners, etc. to provide content for you to read then Salon would have taken it.
As it is, they are doing what they have to do to stay afloat, and I don't hear any better ideas coming from you. If you hate something, how about you write to them and let them know -what would work better-.
