When I clicked, the link was right there and I could bypass the ad immediately. Plus...it's on 15-second ad per 24 hour period. Now that I've gone through one, all content on Salon is open to me without the ads.
So if the ad was funny, you wouldn't mind - but you are not willing to see the ad to find out if it is funny or not. You are convicting them without trial, it appears.
As for the nag strips...I've never seen one actually. I bought my membership immediately. Maybe someone else can explain how they work?
